MIGUEL TO THROW OUT FIRST PITCH

April 21, 2009 by

sox_logoAdd some points to the street cred total of the Chicago White Sox. The Sox have invited WEC Bantamweight champion Miguel Torres to throw out the first pitch at the May 6th game against the Detroit Tigers.

“The support that I receive in my hometown is phenomenal,” Torres said. “The White Sox are a championship organization and I am looking forward to watching them contend for another World Series title this season.”

Miguel upped his record to an astounding 36-1 after defending his title against Takeya Mizugaki at the UIC Pavillion on April 5th. It was his 3rd successful title defense.

We also know that the Tigers and White Sox have a history of mixing it up, so maybe Miguel will end up getting a few Tigers in some subs.
