Silva fought an intelligent fight to nullify his opponent's attack and win conclusively without taking any damage. Still, I would not pay to see his next fight.

Amen to this: "but going in to round 5 of the fight knowing you are behind, and it being a title fight he really should have gone for broke. He had nothing to lose."

That was the strangest part to me. But I still enjoyed watching Silva. He is so creative.

On Chuck/Shogun - I was disappointed in Dana putting unneeded extra pressure on Chuck by making those statements before the fight. As for Chuck actually retiring, Shogun is a pretty good pick to pass the torch to. Shogun showcased the same fearlessness he had back in the Pride days. Plus he avenged his old training partner, Wanderlei. It's actually a pretty good story. The young lion takes out old lion and old lion leaves the pride. It's sad and beautiful at the same time.
On the Silva/Leites debacle - That whole fight seemed very strange to me. I don't know what happened there. I gotta say though that the phrase, "fight ending in spectacular fashion" is silly to expect for every outcome. You can't blame Anderson though for Thales not attempting much offense. Every time he went for the thai plum Thales would drop straight down, which I get that from him, kind of, but going in to round 5 of the fight knowing you are behind, and it being a title fight he really should have gone for broke. He had nothing to lose. I think as multi talented as Anderson it's starting to look like his gameplans are becoming one-dimensional.

Perhaps I'm in the minority. I though SIlva fought his fight. And I enjoyed watching him pick apart Leites. Not his fault Leites would not engage. Am I nuts?
