ULTIMATE KNOCKOUT: GONZAGA HEAD KICK

August 31, 2009 by Matt

It’s called the “Ultimate” Fighting Championship for a reason. This is one of the most devastating knockdowns you will see in MMA. Gabriel Gonzaga lands an amazing head kick on Chris Tuchscherer, then finishes him with punches. So technically the fight was won by TKO via punches, but it was all about the head kick.

EDDIE WINELAND INTERVIEWED AFTER STORMS RAVAGE HIS HOMETOWN

August 20, 2009 by searstapper

The Chicagoland area was under a tornado watch Wednesday, and severe weather did ravage parts of the region. One of hardest hit was the hometown of former WEC bantamweight champion Eddie Wineland. Late Wednesday night the entire town of Chesterton, Indiana was without power as severe weather tore through leaving behind a trail of significant damage. Some residents claim they saw a funnel cloud but the National Weather Service is not calling this a tornado attack. Wineland’s Northwest Indiana apartment complex was among the places hardest hit by the storm. Wineland watched as the roof was torn off his complex. He was interviewed by WLS-TV news reporter Paul Miencke for the 10 o’clock news.

Click here to watch the video report.  Eddie’s part is at 1:30  in the video.
It’s good to see Eddie was not hurt.  Houses and buldings can be replaced, human beings cannot be replaced.

Wineland is scheduled to fight Manny Tapia at WEC 43 in Youngstown, Ohio on September 2.
