CURRAN MATCH SET FOR XFO 34
October 24, 2009 by searstapper
The “Big Frog” makes his return to the XFO cage this December. Jeff Curran will take on Japanese bantamweight Tomohiko Hori for the main event of XFO 34.
Curran, the co-owner and co-promoter of the Xtreme Fighting Organization, is looking to get back on the winning track after losing his last four fights. Despite the losing streak, Curran remains a respected threat in both the 135 pound and 145 pound divisions because all his opponents during this period are all top contenders in World Extreme Cagefighting.
Tomohiko Hori is a training partner of Takeya Mizugaki, Curran’s last opponent. Mizugaki beat the Crystal Lake product by split decision in a match some argue should have gone to Curran. Most recently Hori challenged leg lock wizard Masakazu Imanari for the bantamweight belt in the Japanese-based DEEP promotion last August. Imanari successfully defended his belt against Hori, winning by unanimous deicsion.
It’s going to be a busy end of the year for Curran. In addition to facing Hori, he’s slated to fight on the undercard of the November Strikeforce event at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.
XFO 34 will take place at the Lakemoor Banquet Facility in Lakemoor on Saturday December 5. No other matches have been announced for this event. For tickets go to XFOFighting.tv.
