Mayhem Promotions has notified Chicago’s MMA that the Woodstock Warfare show on Halloween has been canceled. From Mayhem President Jeff Albin:

“Due to much consideration between Woodstock Harley Davidson and Mayhem Promotions, we’ve agreed to reschedule the event for early 2010. Official date will be announced in the upcoming months. We were all really looking forward to this event, as it has been and continues to be a great partnership between the two companies. Many factors went into this decision, but most of all we (Mayhem) do not feel we’ve allowed efficient time to prepare and market the event properly. Anything less takes away from what great potential this particular show has, and what standard we’ve set for ourselves.

We are now totally focused on Disorderly Conduct V; December 5th. This will be our 1yr anniversary, and the fight card is shaping up to be phenomenal.”

I think that this is a great move. Some promoters would just run with it and try and make some money or throw whatever product they could out there just to have an event. The Disorderly Conduct events are well run and professional. They are one of Chicagoland’s best MMA events for amateur cards.
