Mike Stumpf Headed to the UFC

Mike Stumpf

Team Curran’s Mike Stumpf is headed to the big time. An injury to Daniel “Ninja” Roberts has allowed Stumpf the opportunity of a lifetime — a chance to fight in the UFC.

Stumpf (11-2) will take on submission specialist TJ Waldburger at “Battle on the Bayou” this Saturday night in New Orleans.

Stumpf last fought in May at XFO 39 and defeated Dan Bolden via unanimous decision. He has fought in ShoXC and Adrenaline MMA, but the majority of his fights have been in the XFO, where he has fought 12 times — 9 as a pro and 3 as an amateur.

Waldburger is 1-1 in the UFC, with a win over David Mitchell. Just 23, he holds wins over UFC vet Pete Spratt, Pat “Bam Bam” Healy and Brian Foster. He was knocked out in the first round at UFC Fight Night 24 by Johny Hendricks in his last bout.
