FCE 42: No Mercy

Fight Card Entertainment has announced that FCE 42: NO MERCY has been moved to The Grand Sports Arena in Hoffman Estates from the previously announced Cicero Stadium venue. The event takes place on Friday, October 22, and will also celebrate FCE’s five-year anniversary.

“We’ve had such a tremendous response to this huge event from our fans that it’s become very apparent that we need a larger venue to accommodate the Chicago MMA fans who want to attend,” said FCE’s Brian Angelo. “We’ve got 20 bouts planned and it truly has become Chicagoland’s biggest and best MMA card of the year.”

Tickets already purchased will be honored at the new venue on the night of the event. Additional tickets, starting at $30, can be purchased through the Fight Card Entertainment website, www.FightCard.net or by calling 773-745-1112. VIP Tables of eight are also available. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

The Grand Sports Arena is located at 2350 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates. For more information visit their website at www.grandsportsarena.com.

Featured at FCE 42 will be the first round of the FCE Four Team Fighting Challenge featuring the reigning champions from the 2009 Tournament–The Pac. Also competing in five different weight classes (135lb—185lb) will be Wreck Squad, Team NO COMMENT and Team 110, with the winner claiming bragging rights as the 2011 FCE Team Fighting Champions.

This event will feature Mitch Nix vs. Andrew Navickis in the FCE Middleweight tourney finale. We caught up with Nix at Krav Maga Illinois’ Bas Rutten seminar, and he told us he is ready for Navickis, as well as a run at the Golden Gloves.

Also announced is the FCE Interim Welterweight Championship between Team Top Notch’s Yousef Al-Ghoul and undefeated Oliver Vasquez.

FCE Heavyweight Champion Maurice Greene will also defend his title at this event.
