XFO Fight Night

XFO Fight Night rocked the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates Saturday night, and we asked promoter Dan Lardy to give us his picks for the best standout performances.

Fight of the Night:

Dan said that the three round battle between Mike Hayden and Gabriel Arroyo was the Fight of the Night. “What a Battle!” Lardy said. Hayden got the win via split decision.

KO of the Night:

Take a look at the results below and you’ll see this was a tough call as there were plenty of knockouts that could have been selected. But Lardy went with Dennis Fisher’s KO of Tim Lagray. “After losing the first round, Fisher came out in the second round with a flying knee to the liver for the KO,” Lardy said. If you’ve seen either of the Lagray brothers fight before, you know they are tough. So that must have been a devastating knee to get the finish. We know Bas Rutten would love to hear that someone used a flying knee liver shot to end the fight.

Submission of the Night:

Lardy said that he was impressed with James Bochnovich’s “beautifully transitioned triangle” on John Dougherty that earned Bochnovich¬† the first-round win.
