Evolution MMA Teaches CBS 2’s Vince Gerasole BJJ

on

Evolution MMA welcomed CBS 2 Chicago to their Naperville school on Monday, hosting reporter Vince Gerasole for a crash course in BJJ.

Gerasole spoke with instructor Jason Sullins about the origins of the sport, then took his turn on the mats and spoke with other students about their journeys in BJJ. He learned how to verbally tap after a Palhares-like hold went a little longer than anticipated, but it was all in good fun.

The first segment got off to a bit of a humorous start with the anchor referring to BJJ as “Brazilian Jiu-Zitsu” as he was about to toss to Gerasole at the school. But the segments definitely cast BJJ and the school in a positive light, describing the sport as a great way to lose weight and defend yourself. The visit was part of the “Invite Vince” segment of the CBS 2 Chicago morning news.

Here’s a look at videos from two of the segments CBS 2 did at Evolution MMA.
