MMA World Responds to the Death of Kobe Bryant

Following the tragic death of one of the greatest basketballers and sportsmen of all time, the MMA community has come together to pay tribute.

The news of this tragic event has really shaken the world. Kobe Bryant tragically died in a helicopter crash. The LA Lakers legend and eight others were involved in the incident., one being his 13-year-old daughter Gianna. Kobe was also just 41 years old.

The whole sporting nation took time to pay their respects to Bryant across social media, which included a number of MMA stars. This proves the influence that he had not only on the basketball nation but also in other sporting industries.

Kobe Bryant himself was a huge MMA fan. He wasn’t a fighter and it was basketball that he was the master at, but he still showed huge interest in MMA and attended multiple UFC events. He was also a partner with UFC sponsor BodyArmor.

UFC president Dana White, Michael Bisping and Jorge Jorge Masvidal were among those paying tribute, as well as the likes of Israel Adesanya, Mike Perry, Randy Costa, Daniel Cormier, Alan Jouban, Aljamain Sterling, Dana White, Gilbert Durinho, Amanda Nunes, Derek Brunson and many more.

The accident happened at around 10am. Kobe and other passengers were in a private helicopter on their way to basketball practice when they came across foggy conditions in the slopes above Calabasas. Bryant’s wife was not among those on board of the helicopter, although one of his daughters was. Kobe also has 3 other daughters: Natalie, 17; Bianka, 3 and Capri Kobe Bryant who was born in June of 2019.

Bryant spent two decades with the Lakers, in which time he won five titles and made the 18 All-Star teams before announcing his retirement in 2016. He was the league MVP in 2008 and also received two NBA Finals MVP awards in his career.

After retiring from basketball, Bryant was seeking some new exciting ventures and opportunities that would have a positive impact on the world. He was involved in a lot of charity work and wanted to help others to achieve what he had. He had a lot of time for congratulating other stars and help coach them, whether it be in basketball, boxing, MMA and more.
