MIGUEL TORRES THROWING FIRST PITCH AT SOX GAME

sox_logoIt’s a makeup game of sorts for Miguel Torres and the Chicago White Sox. The Sox invited the WEC Bantamweight champion to throw out the first pitch at the May 6th game against the Detroit Tigers, but that game was rained out.

“After getting rained out in May, I’ve had plenty of time to warm up my throwing arm,” Torres, who improved to 36-1 with a win over Takeya Mizugaki in April, said. “I’m hoping to fire a strike on July 23 and then shut out Brian Bowles on Aug. 9 in Las Vegas.”

Miguel upped his record to an astounding 36-1 after defending his title against Takeya Mizugaki at the UIC Pavillion on April 5th. It was his 3rd successful title defense.

The Sox take on the Rays this Thursday and Miguel will toss out the first pitch at 12:55pm.
