Chicagoans will immediately recognize local UFC stars Clay Guida or Stephan Bonnar; but likely have never heard of highly decorated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion Rodrigo Medieros. He is one of the biggest international stars in the MMA community and he’s based here in the Chicago area. Affectionately known as “Comprido” by friends and fans, he’s the BJJ coach at FLO MMA in Palatine, and he’s also a member of the training team that coaches UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. In the first part of an exclusive interview with Chicago’s MMA reporter Matt Lo Cascio, “Comprido” explains why he feels Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez at UFC 121, and remain the champion for a long time.
