The UFC on FOX press conference featured some great zings between fighters — some coming from fighters not currently in the UFC.
Matt Giancarlo is an amateur fighter out of Gilbert Grappling, who has competed at Brawl at Bourbon Street and G2 Fight Night. He got the smack-talk rolling at the press conference yesterday with this exchange with Michael Bisping. In true Bisping form, he gives it right back.
Giancarlo has trained with Sonnen at Team Quest in Portland, and he’ll fight again locally in March or April. He’ll eventually turn pro, and maybe we’ll even see him on the same UFC card with Bisping some day.

Haha, fun time without a doubt. But to clear myself from many critics that I have seen, complaining about what I said, I have to say this: If both Michael Bisping and Dana White could laugh about it, I think everyone should be able to. I didn’t wish death upon the guy or anything, and on that note, my comment really was a “pro-Sonnen” comment and not an “anti-Bisping” one. But yes, I knew that he would fire back at me, which is why I was compelled to say that, to make things a little more fun, and to kick things off with a bang, being that it was just the second question of the night. I knew Bisping wouldn’t feel personally offended or upset, rather he’d turn it into a funny comeback battle, which is exactly what happened.
Who are these critics? I thought it was awesome. Heck, the whole thing was basically a comedy show.
